DMF Lighting, a leading designer and manufacturer of premium modular LED downlighting systems, today announced the upgrades to its award-winning DRD Modular Downlighting System. The modular series, which consists of a housing, module and trim, features new M Series housings—offered in round and square apertures—and over 50 unique trim choices, allowing for a single housing to accommodate 98% of downlighting applications including fixed, adjustable and wall wash.
The M Series housings are designed to install in nearly any ceiling type including wood, concrete, sloped, hat channel, T-bar and C channel ceilings, satisfying new construction, remodel or retrofit projects. The family includes a Fire Rated housing, a Low-Profile housing, and a Double housing for specialty applications—meeting every lighting specification.
The field-interchangeable optical distributions range from 15 degrees to 90+ degrees and the color temperatures include a choice of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and Warm Dim (3000K – 1800K) with a 93+ color rendering index. Lumen output options range from 750 to 1500 lumens.
The choice of over 50 precision-crafted aluminum trims meets the design aesthetic of any project including pinhole, flangeless and dead front – all available in a wide range of standard finishes along with a custom color option. Like the light modules, the trims are completely interchangeable so any design changes can be easily swapped onsite from fixed to adjustable to wall wash.
The modularity of the DRD system allows the housings and the light modules to ship separately so the housings can be installed before the lighting design is finalized, reducing on-site storage requirements while maintain tight project deadlines.
Featuring a sustainable design, the downlighting system is compliant with California’s Title-24 JA8 and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and is UL Listed and Declare Listed for Living Building Challenge and LEED projects. The series is Fire, STC/IIC Sound and IK10 Impact Rated. The downlights are Air-Tight and rated for installation in insulted ceilings (IC), and in wet and damp locations. The housings also meet Chicago Plenum requirements.
